Meon Voices Choir

meon voices logov2The popular Bishops Waltham-based Meon Voices community choir is searching for a new Choir Director.

Are you a passionate and inspiring conductor with a love for choral music?

The Meon Voices, which many readers will know from its annual Spring and Christmas concerts, is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Choir Director to take over at the helm from January 2025 into its future. Its much-loved and respected current Director has decided to take the choir through to this year’s Christmas concert before stepping down. The Chair of the Meon Voices, Phil Coundley, said “Solveig Harris has led us for eight years, and has been unforgettably generous with her time, energy, knowledge and experience; we cannot thank her enough. We know all those who have been to our performances over these years are also grateful to Solveig for helping the Meon Voices to bring the joy of music to the community. We all benefit so much from singing.”

The new choir director will gain:

  • The opportunity to work with a friendly and dedicated group of 40+ singers.
  • A chance to develop and expand our repertoire, exploring a variety of musical styles.
  • A supportive and collaborative environment where your creativity can flourish.

They need to:

  • Have a proven track record of choral conducting experience.
  • Possess excellent musicianship and strong vocal skills.
  • Be able to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for singers of all abilities.
  • Be excited by sharing the joy of choral singing with the community.

This is a voluntary position, but we offer a renumeration package (details upon request).
